creating a new page with links doesn't work right - at least some buttons

When I tried creating a new page in the wiki with new external links it didn't work.

What I did:

• Create a new page (Project:Coffee fix) including extermal links.
• put an edit comment
• press save

What happened:

• a dialog poped up, with an empty edit comment,
• even when I added comment and CAPTCHA and pressed save it failed to save
• publish button at top of page failed

Work around:

• create page without links
• added links later
• used only buttons at bottom of page even where the publish buttons turned up.

Additional info:
I may have some anti-privacy measures in my browser but none of them were showing active.

mentar on #london-hack-space couldn't reproduce so it's probably an issue with this being the first page with an external link I have created on a relatively new account or it's a browser configuration specific issue.
