Closed issue persists - Can't reconnect after disconnect

Love this mod but I have been plagued by one problem. There was a issue that was supposedly fixed that focused on the same problem. The problem is that if a controller disconnects while in Minecraft, and is reconnected the mod won't recognize it and you need to reload Minecraft for it to work again. I have 2 pc's set up for my 2 kids -1 with an older install of Win 10 and a wireless xbox 360 controller, one is a brand new system with a fresh install of Windows 10 and a xbox one wireless controller. Both setups have the problem. With two young kids playing, it seems like between the two of them they have a disconnect every ten mins and we are constantly re-booting Minecraft which takes a while with large mod packs.

We are playing 1.12.2 with assorted modpacks loaded by the Twitch mod manager and using what I think is the most current build titled:

JoypadMod-1.12-14.21.0.2322.jar

In messing around with things.... I can confirm that the xbox one controller will reconnect. I am now wondering if it is only a xbox 360 wireless controller if if the controlled somehow installed improperly.
