check-namespace.sh only runs in the build directory, should be runnable on an installation

The test script  `check-namespace.sh` only runs ion the build directory with a hard-coded relative path to the DSOs with no error reporting when it does not find them.

It would be better if this test can be run on an installed system, with error reporting when it can not find the DSOs.
