The library has been modernized in PR #82! Key updates include:

• Full C++11 support (move semantics, nullptr, etc.).
• Safer database teardown using sqlite3_close_v2.
• Support for void return types in extension functions.
• Improved UTF-16 support.
• A new, comprehensive test suite.
• Updated documentation and a clarified project status in the README.

The headeronly_src directory is now the primary, maintained implementation.
