[Bug]: video fails to play

Capacitor Version

I'm using capacitor version 7.4 and I have downloaded my app from Google Play store in test mode and the main menu of the app plays a video.

When I open up the app on android and go to the main menu the video plays perfectly.

However the video eventually fails to play at some point after closing the app and opening up again later and the video display the triangle inside the circle where the video should be.

This problem is intermittent and there are only two ways the user can fix this.

1. Clear all the apps running on the device in memory.

2. Delete the app and reinstall it again.

This bug ruins the user experience of the app and I want you to fix it but I know you won't.

When there is no others applications running in the background the video play perfectly but as soon as there starts to be like 10 applications running at once in the devices memory in the background and the app hasn't been opened for a couple of hours the video fails to play.

Expected Behavior

I expect the video to always play in repeat.

Hey @scottywm, this seems like a general issue in Android when running on the background, as eventually the system will kill the app to save resources.

As it pertains to playing videos and audio, you will need some specific native code for media to keep playing while the app is in background.

I'm afraid there is no official plugin for this. You could try something like https://github.com/Cap-go/capacitor-video-player perhaps?

To be honest the problem is intermittent. It's not necessary because of stuff going on in the background. It doesn't happen when I first download the app it happens after a couple of days of the app sitting on my device. At first u thought it was because of stuff running in the background but it's not. Oh sorry, I misunderstood. You mean when you first open the app the video plays fine, and some time you open the app again and the video fails to play. Is that it?

Understood! In that case, I request a reproduction sample for us to check this issue. Not your production app on Google Pay ofc, but a simple isolated app containing just the necessary code to reproduce this issue, as a GitHub repository.

The problem means that when I release the project to you, you will have to first publish it to google play test track and have it on your device for some time before you see the issue. I can make a small dummy app with the video in it but then you are going to have to publish it to google play test track and install it on your phone for some time to properly test it. There is going to be a lot of stuffing around for you to fix this. Are you seriously up to it? That would make it cumbersome to reproduce.

As I said the problem only occurs after a few days since the app has been installed on my device. I new you wouldn't do anything about it lol. I'm done with capacitor anyways. Too many bugs and no one wants to fix them.
