Several uploads by tomjaguarpaw may be broken

Due to my failure to remember #349 (hopefully made a bit clearer by #364) several uploads (in fact, probably all of them ever) made by me may have broken configure scrips. Thanks to @bgamari for bringing this to my attention.

What shall we do? Do a Hackage deprecation for all the version uploaded by me, and release a new, good, major-compatible version?

I think deprecation is likely the right first step, as well as merging and backporting #363.
