Upgrade to Grails 7

I see there some commits done for upgrading it to Grails 7 but there is no documentation or snapshots published. It is a blocking issue for us to migrate to Grails 7 as it is the only implementation of grails-plugin suitable for production. Any plans to release it?

I upgraded the plugin to Grails 7 and the code has been merged to the main branch but it has not yet been published.
I will try to setup the GitHub Action deploy pipeline during the coming week and have the plugin published!

@dauer and I have worked together to release a new Grails 7 version. If you confirm that

org.grails.plugins:grails-cache-ehcache:5.0.0-RC1

works, then we'll release a GA version.

Thanks, How I can get access to it? E.g. which repository I might use/setup to try this version? I can not find it in maven or grails repos.

Never mind, it looks like the right coordinates is:

org.grails.plugins:cache-ehcache:5.0.0-RC1

So far, so good.

I was unable to run my full regression test as I did not yet fully finished migration to grails 7 of my project, but I do not think it is required here, it is just adding more production like scenarios/tests. Although I did test everything on my production code, not a simple test project.

What I've checked:

• Building/dependencies
• Compiling
• Running/Bootstrap
• Info logs reporting creation of caches
• Calling @Cacheable methods
• Not calling @Cacheable body after cached value
• ehcache.xml configuration
• Spring actuator reporting created caches
• No WARN or other logs related to cache

I would say, it is good to go.
