Description
I tested this dockerfile approach today. I succeeded in spinning up a docker container and running a Python script. The script receives MQTT messages processed them and than writes these to influxdb. I have some issues and observations:
- Using a local version of python I can use localhost to write influxdb. But using the dockerfile writing to influxdb failed. I tried different options: 'localhost', 'influxdb' and '172.18.0.3' but no results.
- I succeeded in installing several dependencies, but Pandas could not be installed. I will dive in this myself.
- The name of the container in portainer is weird. The names are fantasy-like and don't have a relation with the name of the dockerfile. First I thought I was hacked but then I realize its the dockerfile.
- I have several python files all with the same dependencies. With this approach I install the dependencies (libraries) multiple times. Isn't is possible to make a container for all files and run the whole set at once?
