[Feature Request] Listen to this device, reset

Hi all wondering if this is even possible.
A Recording device has a "listen to this device" is it possible to automate "reset" ie: uncheck, apply, recheck. apply, close applet window?

This is exactly what I came to this repo to suggest.
If it is possible, I'd greatly appreciate this feature.
Been trying to hack at the registry to accomplish this but I'm reluctant to go this route as it seems even admin rights don't give write access to the 'capture' path in the registry, and I am leery of disabling inheritance and forcing permissions because that might have unintended consequences.
I know that I'm in the realm of "know enough to get myself in trouble" here.
