Popup view causes bottom navigation to disappear

Describe the bug
When going from the full-size application to a popout window, the bottom controls disappear, and don't reappear when resuming full screen either.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open app
2. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to open the app overview, and continue swiping up to open FZ app in popup view
3. Note the absence of bottom navigation buttons
4. Resume full screen
5. Note the continued absence of bottom navigation buttons

Expected behavior
The buttons simply... not disappearing

Could be an issue isolated to gesture navigation on android?

Closing the app with the X button and reopening it from the view of open apps doesn't make the buttons reappear either
