More Compilation Titles on Nintendo DS

Many game consoles I played are no stranger to compilation titles, and the Nintendo DS is no exception. So, I decided to look into more compilation titles for the system to find ways to extract the game ROMs from them. I know from this issue that Konami Classics Series: Arcade Hits and Namco Museum DS contain emulated arcade ROMs that can be extracted. But I want to go a bit deeper. For other compilations, here's what I'm thinking of:

• Atari Greatest Hits (Volumes 1 and 2)
• Intellivision Lives!
• Sonic Classic Collection

Both Atari Greatest Hits volumes contain 100 Atari 2600 and arcade games combined, maybe including 2600 games not found in any Atari compilation I own.

Intellivision Lives! includes 60+ Intellivision games. Some are even exclusive to the Nintendo DS version.

And lastly, Sonic Classic Collection includes six Sonic games released on the SEGA Genesis. Three games were altered to remove instances of two-player modes, those are Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Now, the question I want to ask is, how in the hell do we extract the ROMs from these three compilation titles? I'll need to consider buying the Atari and Intellivision compilations myself just so I can go deeper. Do you know other compilation titles on Nintendo DS? Let me know and I'll add them to the list!

While viewing the attract mode sequence for the Sonic Classic Collection version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the first demo shows Emerald Hill in one-player mode, and we see Tails being controlled by player 2. This is proof that two-player co-op still exists in those games, but only during the single player campaign.

Normally Sonic 2 plays the two-player mode version of the Emerald Hill demo, so that is why the 2 PLAYER VS option was removed for Sonic Classic Collection, as it plays the Emerald Hill demo in one-player mode.

EDIT: While viewing the Emerald Hill demo in the SEGA 3D Classics version of Sonic 2, it plays in two-player mode, and that version hides the 2 PLAYER VS option unless you play with a buddy via Local Play.

EDIT 2: Also worth noting, and more importantly, all six games in Sonic Classic Collection disable pausing with the START button, because of the pause button on the touch screen.

I dumped my Sonic Classic Collection (USA) (En,Fr,Es) (NDSi Enhanced) cartridge and then started it in a DS emulator and launched Sonic the Hedgehog and captured a process memory snapshot. I extracted a Mega Drive/Genesis ROM image from that and byte-swapped it, but the resulting game won't run in normal Genesis/Mega Drive emulators, it hangs on a black screen. Of the Mega Drive/Genesis versions of Sonic the Hedgehog I have dumped, the one it most closely resembles is Sonic the Hedgehog (Japan, Europe, Korea).

I extracted Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in the same way, and it likewise does not boot in a normal emulator, instead hanging on a black screen. Of Sonic 2 variants I have dumped, it most closely resembles Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (World) (Rev A).
