As far as I can tell exaronton only allows automatic backups when the server shuts down which is to rare for me. I would like backups every hour or so, when the server is running.
Ideally the exaronton website would give me more control over backups, like:
- make backups in interval x
- backup to some private server or self-hosted cloud instance instead of mainstream cloud providers
- auto-delete backups, but keep
- 10 hourly backups
- 7 daily backups
- two monthly backups
- one yearly backup etc.
But that's just me and also not the point of this ticket.
The API also doesn't seem to support triggering a custom backup, which would solve this issue for me and I also think it would be a good extension to the API.
Is something like that planned?
I think there would be many use cases where this could be useful. In my specific case I would then implement a cron-job on my server to trigger a custom backup every hour when the server is running. Together with the automatic shutdown backup, that would create a good enough backup strategy for me.
That being said, exaroton is already one of the best services I have ever used and I am excited to see what you will do in the future!
