Readarr was once one of the most beloved open-source tools for automating ebook and audiobook management, seamlessly integrating with download clients, indexers, and metadata sources to organize users’ digital libraries.
Earlier this year, the project was archived by its original maintainers, leaving a passionate user community without updates or fixes.
That’s where OpenWeb Software Solutions steps in. We are revitalizing Readarr from the ground up — reengineering and modernizing every component to bring a stable, performant, and future-proof version to life.

Our goal is simple but ambitious:
To restore, enhance, and evolve Readarr into the world’s most advanced open-source ebook and audiobook automation suite.
We aim to:

⚙️ Technology Stack
The revived Readarr will continue to be built using a cross-platform stack, with potential modernization in key areas:
Backend: .NET / C#
Frontend: Angular or React (under evaluation)
Database: SQLite / PostgreSQL
APIs: Open Metadata Providers, Calibre, Google Books, Audible, and others
Integrations: SABnzbd, NZBGet, qBittorrent, Transmission, etc.
We are also exploring Docker-based deployments for seamless cross-environment compatibility.
