Range query returns extra cells

Occasionally the range API will return extra cells beyond the top of the range. No biggie but wanted to log the issue.

Conditions for this are known (where constructing the range would
require more than one index of a given power of two), so the current
design is by design to minimize RPC calls. Still, it would be nice to
have a slick solution to drop excess results.
