Support scikit-build-core

Thanks for the project! We've used setuptools-scm in the past and thought it was too opinionated and tries to do too much, so this is great. While the project I'm investigating this for is currently using setuptools for packaging, we are considering moving to a cmake and sciki-build-core. Based on this docs, this project only supports setuptools. Is it possible to support sciki-build-core as well?

setuptools-scm supports scikit-build-core, so perhaps whatever it's doing can be used as a source of inspiration.

I'm not against it, but also I'm not very interested in it. PRs are welcome, no active contribution from me for this feature, sorry.
