We would like to be able to see traffic from AI, or LLMs. AI is becoming an increasingly important source of visitors and this is one of the more effective way to detect direct traffic.
This can be achieved by adding an AI channel to Google Analytics.
In Google Analytics under Admin/Data Display are Channel Groups.
The default list looks like this:
We would like to add an AI channel above referrals. Note: We removed all paid channels as they were not being used. Note that AI needs to be higher than Referral to be tracked.
We added a new channel and under Channel Conditions we wrote used "matches regex" and using the following regex:
