scroll and noctalia-shell

Hello dawsers,

Thanks for making scroll!
I would like to use scroll together with the noctalia-shell: https://github.com/noctalia-dev/noctalia-shell

In the noctalia-shell there are options to display the currently active window and the applications in use per workspace in the bar. For some reason these are not displayed on my side when using scroll.

Is there any possibility to make this work?

They would need to add support for scroll. The last time I checked, they support some of sway's features through calling swaymsg instead of using the IPC mechanism directly. If they used IPC, scroll support would be automatic, like in waybar or Dank Material Shell. but if they prefer to use the command line (swaymsg), they would need to also have specific support and call scrollmsg.

There is something you can do, though. If you don't have sway installed on your system, you can set a link from scrollmsg to swaymsg, so any application callling swaymsg will instead use scrollmsg, which provides a superset of features. That should probably work. Set that link somewhere in your path.
