Is there an existing issue for this?
Describe the bug
Dear Darktable Support Team,
I am experiencing an issue installing and running Darktable on my Mac, and I would appreciate your assistance.
System details:
• MacBook Pro 13-inch (2018)
• 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 (x86_64)
• 8 GB RAM
• macOS Sonoma 14.8.3
I downloaded the official Darktable 5.4.1 x86_64 (.dmg) package from your website. The installation completes successfully, but when I try to open the application, I receive the following message:
“You cannot use this version of the application darktable with this version of macOS.”
Since my system is running macOS 14.8.3 (which is newer than the minimum requirement of 13.5 Ventura), I am unsure why this compatibility error appears.
I have confirmed that:
• I downloaded the Intel (x86_64) version, not ARM.
• The file downloaded correctly.
• The application was moved to the Applications folder before launching.
Could you please clarify whether Darktable 5.4.1 has any known compatibility issues with Intel-based Macs running macOS Sonoma?
If necessary, I would also appreciate guidance on which stable version you recommend for my configuration.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best regards,
