Make the UI look less like a mobile chat app but keep Hangouts-ness

A few people (@kinghrothgar, @rich90usa) have mentioned this but at first glance the site looks like a mobile app chat room... Which was kinda the point, with the hangouts theme, but it obviously causes confusion. I'd like to come up with some way to avoid this but still keep the general feel of Hangouts.

There was talk about including a snippet of the blog article in the hangouts message or moving the chat messages all to one side so its less of a conversation. Suggestions?

Yeah the design looks good, but it does blatantly rip off Hangouts (which I know is the point) and I'm not sure if that will cause more problems, other than people just thinking it's a chat room. I like how everything has a lot of white space, giving it a clean and un-cluttered feel. I like the current design, but I think we need to come up with a new one to avoid issues in the future.

Maybe we can include an easter egg that changes the style back to the current hangouts theme?
