New Codice Emeritus Policy #6966

@jaymcnallie

Description

@jaymcnallie

Greetings @codice/ddf-committers

I'm proposing the creation of a new @codice/codice-emeritus team for members who have demonstrated valuable contributions to Codice projects in the past but have not been active for 180 days. Any member of the codice-emeritus team will be able to request immediate reinstatement if they anticipate making contributions to the projects within the Codice organization.

Why?
Simply, security. Inactive accounts provide additional attack vectors for malicious actors in control of compromised accounts. Moving these inactive accounts to read-only status reduces those vectors.

Who?
Initially, members of the @codice/ddf-committers will be audited. Any users who meet the above criteria will be moved to emeritus status. The audit will continue with other teams in the organization to ensure that any inactive users are moved to emeritus status.

The following is a list of users who have not been active in the last 180 days:

When?
We'd like to knock this out inside of 30 days. If you want to maintain ddf-committer status, simply comment below. Automated monthly audits of committers will be performed going forward.

Feel free to drop a comment below with any feedback or concerns.
