Description
It would be cool to search for an unofficial or past org ID, and be pointed to the current, official one. E.g.
- search for
CH-4, finder suggestsXM-DAC-CH-4(since this was a past org ID for Swiss SDC, and is still listed on the registry) - search for
FR-6, finder suggestsFR-SIREN-110-006-012(since this was a past org ID for France, MFA, and is still listed on the registry) - search for
GB-1, finder suggestsGB-GOV-1(since this was a past org ID for DFID, and appears in their activity data, underother-identifier/[@type=B1]) - search for
99999and findXM-DAC-41114(since UNDP sometimes refer to themselves as99999in their activity files)
Obviously this would add a lot of complexity, but it’s interesting to consider how it could be implemented.
This relates to @markbrough’s point on IATI discuss, regarding the OrganisationIdentifier codelist.
