This repo appears to be attempting to track the upstream repo, but the current stable release on the store is 2.6.0, which is from March. The edge release is recent, but there's nothing indicating that this should be installed with --edge

Proposed solution

With the infrastructure the snapcrafters team are building, repository that uses these tools would both automate more of the packaging work and allow others to help maintain the package.
