[Feature Request] Expose the current/previous derivative, or allow it to be observed

It would be amazing if the computed derivative dxdt is exposed to the provided Observer.
Alternatively, for the steppers, if the current/previous derivative (which are private for the dense stepper) could be exposed via the getters.
