Is this SDK dead?

No updates in 9 months? I'm just wondering if there are any resources being applied to making this better? Any insight?

We cannot get hand tracking working, and the next thing to try is going to be to rewind all of these dependencies.

I strongly agree with the concerns raised here. As someone actively developing with this SDK for months, it has become evident that the repository is largely unmaintained and the SDK itself is becoming obsolete.

Critical blockers include:

• Version Incompatibility: Most of the sample scenes are broken on modern Unity versions (e.g., 6000.x.x), and the expectation to remain on Unity 2022 is no longer viable.

• Security Risks: The recently announced Unity security vulnerability makes staying on outdated Unity versions a significant and unnecessary risk, forcing a choice between security and this SDK.

• Performance & Feature Limitations: This lack of updates prevents us from utilizing modern engine features and optimizations. This is especially damaging for performance-hungry platforms like VR, where being locked to an outdated engine core is extremely restrictive.

We urgently need an official statement on whether this SDK will receive updates for current Unity editors or if developers should begin migrating to alternative OpenXR pathways. Clarity on the roadmap (or end-of-life status) would help teams plan accordingly.

We are working on getting some more intel on this issue, and we'll share what we find out.

Definitely following this, too. Really need access to cameras, and a way to track: QR Codes, ArUco markers. Accessing the cameras directly would help, and having literal built-in methods to track pose/payload(data) codes/markers in real-space would be ideal. Really wish there was a universal OpenXR library, but if we have to use OpenCV or something else and create our own, regardless, we need access to those cameras and streaming video.

I can confirm that Hand Tracking doesn't seem to work with Unity 6000.X
