Problem this feature solves
Being able to be notified when someone discusses a comment you made without pinging you. People think they're being polite by disabling the ping, but one may want to be notified when their messages are being discussed.
Solution for this problem
An option to be notified of messages that are a reply to one of your messages while not pinging you in that message.
