Whilst I can see the toolbar's reason is to tell the user what files are compatible, most people would probably click other/auto anyway. I think that clicking anywhere else on the window and/or dragging and dropping a file should be a feature and it should auto scan the file. This could even lead to removal of the toolbar but then people might not know what files are compatible. Perhaps if the toolbar does get removed there's a button to show all compatible files.
