Genesis,SNES works good. But DOOM core not

I suspect the issue is just that the core is sending RAW PATH STRINGS into the core and back over with callbacks. While going into the core would be "fine" as that converts it to UTF8, it will not be able to correctly convert it back in the callback, as the callback would only be able to convert it back to the local codepage (ANSI). This is a footgun case that #4558 was made to avoid basically, and really there is no reason why the entire path should be sent over here, at most potentially the actually filename could be sent over (if the core relies on that for some autodetection purpose) but otherwise it's better to convert such over with dummy filenames like 0.wad, 1.wad, etc.
