I understand that DSM 6.2 is end-of-life, so this request may not be feasible, but I wanted to ask nonetheless.
Currently, building packages for DSM 6.2.4 is challenging due to newer source repositories relying on C++17 features, which are not supported by the GCC 4.9.3 included in the DSM 6.2.4 Tool Chains.
Would it be technically feasible to build updated DSM 6.2.4 Tool Chains that still target glibc 2.20 but use a newer GCC version? For reference, the DSM 7.0-41890 Tool Chains include GCC 7.5.0, which supports most C++17 features.
I’d appreciate any insights from those with experience in DSM toolchain builds — whether this is achievable and what steps might be required.
