High CPU usage on mpv

Hello, when playing 4K HEVC videos using mpv on the program, the CPU usage spikes and makes my computer laggy. Could this be an effect of mpv having only software decoding? I don't see an option where I could enable hardware decoding on mpv.

mpv defiantly has hardware decoding
maybe clean install your gpu drivers
