README is outdated

The current README.md file which also serves as the front page/instructions for the tutorials repo is outdated. I'm not sure how badly but we have not used the ESS jenkins in quite a few years already? Somebody who knows how things are currently working should probably check everything and update

Also note that we should probably use the github actions to create the pdfs on commit? but that should be a separate ticket
