mqtt-gateway not working with ioBroker

For some reason, the java gateway is not working with ioBroker at the moment, with mosquitto everything is stable though...

What I could find out so far: at some point during initialization, the mqtt client will get stuck when trying to publish messages. This only happens when the refresh period topics are set and thus read at startup.

This issue seems to happen because of this flag in ioBroker: "States bei subscribe publizieren" (Post status subscribes) (https://www.iobroker.net/docu/index-378.htm?page_id=3790&lang=de#Allgemeine_Einstellungen).

Disabling it seems to help. Still after restarting the gateway, old /set commands get republished and crash with the "retained" error of the gateway (correct behavior). Question would also be, why does ioBroker resend some states as retained?
