Frequent Intermittent Initialization Failure: "Dell could not initialize or has no sensors" #33

Description

System: Dell Precision Tower 3420
Fan Control Version: 255 (NET 4.8)
LibreHardwareMonitorLib Version: 0.9.6.0
PawnIO Version: 2.2.0.0
HDD: Samsung 512GB NVMe

Uncertain what is causing this because sometimes FanControl works absolutely fine, system fans/sensors are detected and everything seems to work just fine. Frequently though on first boot it fails to recognise any of the Dell System stuff and only shows the GPU (nVidia Quadro P1000). -- I installed the plugin and added the registry 'hack' (which tbh didn't seem to make any difference). -- Rebooting the system usually fixes this issue but I do not understand why the fault is happening in the first place.

Here's an excerpt from the error log file:

[V266] 5/17/2026 10:41:46 AM: Open - System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path

Dell could not initialize or has no sensors.
[V266] 5/17/2026 10:41:51 AM: Startup - System.Exception: Try refresh failed. Retry count (6) exceeded.

The folder/file in question is (as best I can tell) not restricted or hidden in any way, and as I said the fault is frequent yet intermittent and/or can be resolved by rebooting (only to happen again next time I cold-start or reboot).
Storage is an NVMe drive -- I have wondered about any weird boot-lock delays or load-order issues but nothing that really makes any sense, I don't really know this stuff and honestly I am at a loss to understand let alone explain this. -- I did try increasing the load delay in FanControl to 60s but it didn't help, it just failed after a longer pause.

Note: I have upgraded the system fans to Noctua ones ... and yes I wasn't aware of the minimum RPM requirements before making the upgrade, so I am getting the BIOS fan warning issues. However the problem I'm having with FanControl was happening before I swapped the fans out, so that seems unrelated.
