REST API Backend #184
Description
The decision of creating a REST API for the website arose due to the following reasons(+some more):
- Decoupling the frontend from the backend will allow for more flexibility and faster changes to different parts.
- Have a more modern and easily customizable design.
- It ensures portability to other frontend technologies as and when required in the future.
- Upgrades of python packages will not affect the template filters, hence making the upgrades a bit less hassle.
- And most importantly- Just because we can! xD.
