This would reduce the amount of 'blue warnings' that windows shows, and also tends to reduce anti-virus false positives, especially with Windows Defender.
One option is https://signpath.org/ , who offer free code signing for open source projects.
If there isn't an existing provider you're comfortable with, I'd be provisionally open to signing them with my cert, but this would be substantially worse - it would depend on me, personally, doing manual work every release, which can not be delegated. I would need to understand why the automatable options aren't usable to go ahead with this.
