I guess PHP 8.1 issues

Thanks for your quick response! The project looks very promising, I got it up and running, managed to upload a video and add a new hypervideo but the video (mp4) does not play.

I got this error:

Yes, its a "Deprecated" issue from php 8.
With php 7.X you should be fine.

Hey @tammo0 after downgrading the server to 7.4 it still does not work. Is there a dependencies list I should check? Does this need any special php packages or ffmpeg to be installed? Thanks!

Furthermore, I've now created a new Apache php7.4 ubuntu server but I got the same problem. videos upload I can add things to them but they do not play, nor the timeline display in/out point of anything. Can we get logs from FrameTrail somehow to investigate?

Any ideas @tammo0 ? PHP7.4 with Apache2 on an ubuntu server does not work. Any possible dependencies I'm missing? Thanks heaps!

@gaborkukucska what exactly are your steps?
Make sure you are logged in, when editing an hypervideo, make sure to save your changings

Thanks for your response. I was logged in, I also created and activated another user successfully, so far "everythign" works (as much as I could test without playback) except the playback. Perhaps the player you've used in your code is missing a dependency? Not sure. Can give you access to investigate if you want...

Hi @gaborkukucska, regarding playback issues it is always worth checking if the videos are correctly encoded (https://frametrail.org/faq.html#faq23). Might that be the problem?

Thanks @OpenHypervideo I have tried a few different ones (all that works on my other sites) none of them work. the player does not even start to load. fyi I'm predominantly a video producer, also developped https://inspireflix.com so I doubt that it is a video transcode issue.

Thanks @OpenHypervideo I really appreciate that, however, I've figured out what has happened for me and it is quite embarrassing :)

I was uploading the videos while adding the hypervideo and after the upload finished I did not click on the video to be selected.

Perhaps automatically selecting the last uploaded video could help dumbasses like me LOL...

I can now continue evaluating, but it seems very cool so far.

I can confirm that it works fine with PHP8.2-fpm on Nginx too. It needs better user / resource management to be usable though... are you still planning to further developing this?
