The pain
I am using the app on a large Desktop monitor in Dark Mode. Even when selecting the "Slate" theme color, the primary buttons (like "View Details", active tabs, switches) remain overly bright and high-contrast (appearing almost like a bright, light blue/white).
On a large screen, these massive bright UI elements become overwhelming, cause severe eye strain, and make it difficult to focus on the actual content. The contrast is simply too aggressive for light-sensitive users in dark environments.
What would help
It would be a massive accessibility improvement to add a true "Monochrome" or "Dim" accent color option (or adjust the existing Slate palette for dark mode).
In this mode, primary buttons and accents should use muted, low-contrast dark grays (similar to GitHub's native web "Dim" dark mode) instead of bright, glowing colors. The buttons should blend into the dark theme, not pop out aggressively.

I have attached screenshots showing how bright the "Slate" buttons appear on desktop compared to the comfortable, muted UI of the GitHub website.
