The run files are actually pre-built of the open source kernel driver. The closed source kernel driver is also included in those run files as an option to install. |

Why do the release pages on GitHub, e.g. release 590.44.01, link to a document on www.nvidia.com describing the closed-source driver? E.g. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/258761/ for the aforementioned driver has a download button for NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-590.44.01.run which is not the open driver.
