What kind of algorithm/AI/model is actually used to generate the messages?

Maybe I overlooked in in the documentation, but I think it is important that it be highlighted, how these messages are generated. A short description would be sufficient. Does my diff get sent to OpenAI? Is a purely local AI? Is it a small simple neural network? etc.
