I extracted the IPSW contents, used "dmg" to extract the system partition image, mounted it, repacked it into the "DMG" image format. Put it all back inside the fancy zip archive...
I don't see any "Other (Custom IPSW)" option, only the regular "Other (Tethered)" which says to not select a custom IPSW.
Well I don't have any options now do I?
And yeah it fails.
