Remove old addon version from the .luarc.json when upgrading

I upgraded my own addon a few times using luarocks install lls-addon-ddnetpp and the .luarc.json looks like this now

Yeah... not the greatest UX. If there is a way to implement an uninstall step, that's where I would put the logic for deleting the library/ reference. I checked the source for luarocks remove here, but it doesn't contain any code that reaches into the rockspec and looks for a luarocks.build.* module.

So the only way this would work without creating any new commands is removing old versions when installing a new one. I want to respect existing build flags like --keep so that multiple versions of the addon are also kept, however, there is no way to access command-line arguments. I would want to look through all the arguments I don't receive and emulate them with environment variables if applicable.
