can i stop compact GUI from booting at startup with my pc and if it is possible will it affect anything ? thanks for reply <3

Right now if you have any watched folders, CompactGUI will run on startup so that those folders can be monitored. I do plan on changing this, but for now if you really want to stop it launching at startup, delete all your watched folders and restart the application once, and it will clear itself from startup.

I'd really appreciate an option to create custom PowerShell scripts or access a built-in CLI for watcher functions. On my homemade Steam Machine, I run CompactGUI at boot alongside Steam in a shell-based setup. When I exit back to Explorer, I repeatedly get pop-ups warning that CompactGUI is already running. With the current design, there's no way to suppress or handle these alerts other than manually dismissing them each time.

As a short-term improvement, even something as simple as decoupling "Start CompactGUI in system tray" from automatically launching the application would help a lot. For example, replacing it with two separate options—"Launch CompactGUI with Windows" and "Start CompactGUI in system tray"—would be a lifesaver.
