Teensy uC Motherboard

Overview

The track sensor unit is another board containing a teensy 4.0 that is able to collate sensor information coming from 2 high-accuracy distance sensors and then transmit this information over CAN. We must therefore break out connectors for both the laser sensor and the CAN bus.

To keep track of the system stability, we should also be taking temperature measurements on a regular basis, so temperature sensors should also be integrated with the necessary breakout pins.

In addition, all other pins should be broken out for debugging and later hardware development (THIS IS A PROTOTYPE BOARD).

Specifications

  • Motherboard must have female headers to insert Teensy 4.0 uC into.
  • Motherboard must break out uC CAN port pins.
  • Motherboard must NOT block usb port on uC
  • M3 Mounting holes must exist in all corners of the board
  • Motherboard must have power filtering (due to sensitive devices)
    *. All other pins of teensy must be broken out as a separate header for later development.
  • Board must measure ambient temperature of self
  • Board must measure temperature around distance sensors

Deliverables

A board that interfaces the CAN bus and the two laser position sensors.
