Hyperloop pod side-door control and sense board

Overview

The door-control board will connect a small uC to an electromagnet via an isolated relay, in order to lock the door, and a small switch, in order to sense if the door is open or not. In addition to this, the uC will connect to a CAN interface chip in order to communicate with the rest of the pod. A small board is required to encompass all of this.

Specifications

  • Board must be fairly compact
  • Board must interface 2 electromagnets, both controller by 1 relay
  • Board must contain a socket for an ATTiny84 uC (chip is removable for programming)
  • Board must contain a MCP2515 CAN interface chip
  • Board must have breakout pins for a switch that can sense when the door is closed
  • Board must have breakout pins for 2 electromagnets

Deliverables

A board which follows the schematic found in the Door Unit folder and conforms to the specifications set out above.

Minor changes to the schematic can be made if deemed necessary!
