I'm bumping that. I think it's relevant to keep the previous tag because we can still run "csgo" from the CS2 custom version. Maybe we could have a "csgo-legacy" tag that uses the id 740, and the "csgo" tag that uses the id 4465480.

Or maybe we can invert, and "csgo" keep the 740, but a tag like "csgo-updated" uses 4465480...

But it's very important that we get at least the new version...

I understand that I wasted three hours today reinstalling CS:GO servers, and they still don't work for me? Are the constant problems with versions due to the fact that Linux GSM works poorly and incorrectly?

Due to an incorrect AppID, my server is not functioning. It starts up, but no one can connect to it. This is unacceptable. I have spent a significant amount of time on this. If the instructions on the Linux GSM website are not currently up to date.

Use LINUXGSM existing script to install the server normally. Let the installation complete. Dont start the server
Go to the folder - /home/csgo/serverfiles and open steam_appid.txt, change the number from 730 to 4465480
Go to the folder - /home/csgo/serverfiles/csgo and open steam.inf and again against appid change from 730 to 4465480
You have to install nolobbyreservation plugin for players to join so complete metamod and sourcemod installation using lgsm ./csgoserver mods-install command, copy the plugin files under addons folder
Create a GSLT using new appid - 4465480 if you want server to be public and set in the cfg file
Download the CSGO client, using csgo_legacy build instance will not work.
Now you can connect and play on your server (of course open the necessary ports)

Hi! I managed to set up the CS:GO server (with the new appid), here is how I did it and which files I used.

1. Install the entire server.
2. Configure the token using the token generated with the new ID.
3. Important: do not initialize the server yet.
4. Install the plugins SourceMod and MetaMod.
5. Manually install the nolobbyreservation.tar.gz plugin shared by Nora previously (I installed it via FileZilla, it was easier for me).
6. Update the configurations of the following files with the new appid:
7. serverfiles/bin/steam_appid.txt
8. serverfiles/csgo/steam.inf
9. Setup config files: Then, in /lgsm/config-default/config-game/server.cfg I changed the password and server name, as well as in /serverfiles/csgo/cfg/csgoserver.cfg.
10. Completion: Once that was configured and after opening the ports, I managed to get my friends to connect from outside.

One more comment for @zenbenlam-sys. Threatening Open Source Code Devs on Github is not a good idea tho. It's not helping resolve the issue.

Sorry for my "English," I wasn't actually trying to "threaten" anyone, I was just angry that the instructions on linux gsm are out of date and no one is reporting that everyone is having these problems right now. In fact, I already found similar instructions on reddit (the same ones you wrote), but it hasn't worked yet.

I have great respect for the developers of LinuxGSM and am grateful to them for their work, but I still think that the instructions for game servers should include a note such as "These instructions are currently not relevant," or "The game server has a problem that is not dependent on the developers of LinuxGSM," or "It's all Gabe's fault." 😁

I think the authors of the linuxGSM CS:GO server should change the server installation script so that people don't have to fix everything manually. I would be very grateful to them for that, and I think I'm not the only one))
