commercial use clarification for sensevoicesmall in paid desktop software #286

Description

@Yingfeng617048

hello,

i am developing a windows desktop video editing tool for chinese speech transcription and rough-cut editing.
i would like to integrate sensevoicesmall as the local speech recognition engine.

my intended use case is:

  1. the software is a locally deployed desktop application;
  2. users pay for the software license / product;
  3. audio and video data are processed locally on the user’s device or on our own controlled server;
  4. we do not resell the model itself as a standalone product;
  5. we would keep all required copyright notices, license texts, and attribution information.

before using sensevoicesmall in a commercial product, i would like to confirm the licensing scope clearly.

could you please confirm the following:

  1. is sensevoicesmall allowed to be used in a paid commercial desktop software product?
  2. is local deployment for end users allowed in such a commercial scenario?
  3. is bundling the model with a paid software installer permitted?
  4. are there any additional restrictions on commercial distribution, paid licensing, or software sales?
  5. which exact license / model license / terms should be followed for the model weights?
  6. if the code license and model-weight license are different, which document should be treated as the governing license for commercial use?

if possible, please provide the official license reference or a written clarification that we can keep for compliance review.

a reply in this github issue is sufficient for our internal compliance record.

thank you very much.
