Lagging on frequent input

Steps to reproduce the bug

I haven't been able to reproduce it directly, the bug seems to appear randomly, but it seems to happen more often when typing quickly. It appears independently of the app I am typing into. And has been happening in at least the last three play store releases.

Once it has appeared, it can not be stopped by switching apps/keyboards or by a force stop of the keyboard app.
Locking and unlocking the phone (short pressing power button) sometimes helps, but not always.
Reboot of the phone has always helped so far.

Expected behavior

Typing smoothly.

Actual behavior

1. Typing something.
2. The keyboard responses gradually slow down by a lot (to about 1 action per 3 seconds or even longer).
3. I can continue typing, but the responses to my typing only happen at this very slow rate.
4. Keyboard animations (except for the first letter typed) don't happen during this time and the cursor is not blinking.
5. Letters typed during this time insert very slowly and after a while, android warns that the app is not responding.
6. Dismissing this warning works and the already typed letters continue appearing slowly.
7. When all letters typed have appeared, the cursor goes back to blinking.
8. If i restart typing, letters continue appearing at the same slow response rate.

I have this exact issue. Sometimes it crashes when it doesnt put characters into write field. Even when writing this its slow.

Default keyboard works better. My phone is samsung a51.

I just downloaded system trace from phone. getCursorCapsMode takes over 50ms. And most of the time its sleeping. getExractedText called every key stroke and takes 5 ms average with mostly sleeping. Why are we getting text from write field every key stroke?

I am not sure if I'm understanding your issue correctly, but it doesn't appear to be the same as mine. I have never had any typed letters not arrive in the input field, they just take a while when this bug occurs.
Also, it's not that frequent for me. Most of the time, there is no lagging.
