This is do to how Sonoma handles the rendering. I am not aware of a way to fix that.

@logicsec @grapefizz I just went down this rabbit hole because of this thread, you need to fully disable SIP and edit some macOS asset files, I did a writeup here: https://github.com/ZimengXiong/osx-square-window-corners/ and just posted my setup at the bottom of this discussion. AFAIK editing the asset files are the only way to have semi-consistent styling across the OS rather than relying on per app support. It is rather finicky and I wish apple had a toggle for this.

I remember having an issue with Space Highlighting as well a while back. Don't forget to update your bar at the bottom or it won't highlight until you've switched spaces, if that doesn't work you can look at my sketchybarrc in my Dots repo to see if there's something missing maybe.

Another Nord-Themed setup. Lots of work to do to completely switch over to Sketchybar from previous solutions, but I’m quite happy with how things are turning out!

Thank you for the kind words! I spent most of this weekend taking a break from porting plugins and working on cleaning up my code. I also lack any kind of artistic ability so I just looked up some polybar themes and colored them with the basic nord colors. I use rofi/polybar/bspwm on linux and I’m just so happy I can get a similar set up on macOS with alfred/sketchybar/yabai!

Sketchybar is significantly more powerful than I had assumed at first glance, I’m definitely going to spend some more time writing plugins and making the bar more responsive to mouse events in the near future!

I think it looks a bit weird with the bar going through the notch and, at least in my case, poking out a little under it.

I adapted a lua setup from someone on this thread I believe, can't remember who. I have it setup as a click-script to trigger the free app from the MAS Sparrow (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sparrow-weather/id6449440582?mt=12) to give me some details on today and tomorrow's conditions, though the original plugin had a custom sbar menu. The main plugin file is https://github.com/wiggly-sheets/dotfiles/blob/main/.config/sketchybar/items/weather.lua. You will also need a secrets file called weather_vars.lua with your API from Free Weather API (https://www.weatherapi.com/), and set a location in that file as well. If you need any more info let me know.

Good to hear. With every release ssid gets further obsfucated so hopefully this workaround will last a bit.

If you're looking to do this try using y_offsets on both items and playing with padding.

Unfortunately it doesn't work. Because when I try this the text is hidden by the other element in the bar and cut off. I'm unable to solve it, any example of this you know of? The best I could do is put the text in the right corner next to the icon. I want the text to be below it because I think it will look really cool. And yes, I'm using two different items to do it.

By the way, the text is the battery charge percentage.

My dots have a lua config doing this for a few items, including my disk, temperature, battery and date/time widgets. If you're using lua this might help you.
