Keybind / Keyboard key for zooming?

I don't want to use my scroll wheel on my mouse, is there a button to switch to the zoom tool or even regular switching to zoom state while button is pressed/held down?

No, there aren't any keybinds in the current version to switch to the zoom tool. @sid293 recently added the keybind, so that will be available in the next version, however, that keybind doesn't switch back to the previous tool after it's released. Do you want something similar to how holding Space temporarily switches to the Pan tool? If so, I can add that for the next version as well.

Yes a hold to zoom button (similar to holding space to pan) as you have outlined would be great.

It would feel more natural to have such a feature, and I think I speak for most Photoshop, and CAD, and everything inbetween users.
