Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Currently, PDFs uploaded to the Media Library can be identified using the "pdf-link" filter, but Equalify does not indicate the source location of PDFs that were not uploaded through the Media Library. This makes it difficult for accessibility teams and site owners to quickly locate the source page containing the PDF link, especially for large websites with many pages and documents. As a result, additional manual searching is often required to determine where the PDF is published so remediation can be completed.

Describe the solution you'd like
Add functionality that identifies and displays the source webpage URL where each PDF is linked, in addition to the existing "pdf-link" filter. It would be great if the report could include:

  • Each PDF URL
  • The source page URL(s) where each PDF is linked
  • Optional anchor/link text associated with the PDF link

This would allow users to quickly trace PDFs back to their originating webpages for remediation, content review, or communication with content owners.

How does this feature satisfy Equalify project goals?
This feature would improve audit efficiency and streamline remediation workflows by reducing the manual effort required to locate PDF links across websites. It would help institutions more effectively identify and manage inaccessible PDF content, supporting Equalify’s goal of improving web accessibility compliance and usability at scale.

Additionally, providing source page context would make reports more actionable for the individual units and improve collaboration between accessibility teams and website administrators.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Current alternatives include:

  • Accessing the WordPress Editor and manually locating the file through the “Media Library” page
  • Manually searching for the document name using a search engine
  • Applying the “pdf-link” filter in Equalify to identify PDF links within HTML pages

Additional context
The existing "pdf-link" tag is helpful for identifying PDFs, but adding the source page location would significantly improve report usability and remediation workflows.
