Issue on E4S page: E4S Product Catalog

A number of products seem to be in the wrong categories. For example:

It seems to me that CP2K should be listed as a simulation product, not a PMR product.

Similar, WarpX: https://e4s.io/product-catalog/?search=warpx should be simulation

AMReX should be math libraries, I think.

In general, it seems like we should review the categories of our products.

This refactoriing could be an interesting case study for using an agent.

An LLM was able to make pretty quick work of this. I'm documenting the substantial changes below. There was a fair bit of normalization as well (capitalization, merging "Tools" with "Development Tools" etc). Let me know if you find any assignments amiss. The relevant commit is: E4S-Project/E4S-Documenter@eecf1bb

This should be live on e4s.io now. I note that the select by area menu in the catalog is still catching some different capitalization options. This is because the documenter gives priority to products that provide e4s.yaml in their own repo. We don't control those and a couple of them aren't using the normalized area names. I could have the catalog generator normalize capitalization or it could be done on the website side, whichever you prefer.

This is a big improvement. One more: SZ should be moved from N/A to Data and Viz.

Also, it would be good to keep this open until the two versions of math libraries is merged somehow.

I believe SZ is the same deal as the capitalization variants. They have an e4s.yaml in their repo with no area set which supersedes the one we have in our repo. I can submit a PR to them but I think we need to consider either an option to override external definitions, or shutting that functionality off if we don't want to rely on project teams to work with them. SZ2, which is what we currently have in E4S, has been deprecated and replaced with SZ3 so we may want to add that and/or remove SZ2.

Deprecating SZ2 and adding SZ3 seems to make sense. Submitting a PR against the repos, or overriding the definitions, or maybe both options also seem to make sense. I think our primary responsibility is to make sure the information is valid and makes sense.

I don’t know if we have a formal process for deprecating a package, but I think we do, and I think we need to invoke it here for SZ2.

I've registered an issue for the SZ version change here: E4S-Project/e4s#165 I've switched our nightly catalog build to use local data only and fixed a couple more case mismatches. The area list on the catalog page is up to date with no duplicates or n/a entries. If it looks good to you I think you can mark this one closed.
